The Dimple Has Been Captured!

Thanks again to Liz for practicing on Benny and taking these pics. The last picture that she was able to take, before her card filled up, was the dimple shot. Cute huh?

The Ellusive Dimple...

I've been on the hunt ever since I first caught a glimpse of it. I never realized this before but, one of the hardest things in the world is to capture a newborn's smile on camera. They occur at random moments (especially when you don't have a camera sitting anywhere near you or better yet one out of the case and ready for the perfect shot). The first time we caught sight of one of Ben's smiles his cuteness factor jumped 100 points (like he could get any cuter) - a little dimple had appeared in his left check. Boy is he going to melt hearts someday. I am making it my mission to catch this rarity on camera though. Even if it means that I have to leave cameras all over the house ready to snap a pic at a moment's notice. If I fail, I guess you will all have to wait for a couple more weeks until we can tag-team him and coax one out of him.

He's Here!

Beniah John DiSandro was born on April 28th at 5:02 pm. He weighed a whopping 9 lb 12 oz and was 22 in long. Boy is he a cutie. You can see pics of the day he was born here.

Purty things...

I wanted to "dress up" some of Benny's burp clothes to give them a little something other than spit-up to decorate their plain whiteness. I found some fabric that I thought was neat and different this past weekend and set upon the task before me. It was probably the easiest sewing project that I ever did. And look how cute they turned out! :-) (Jeff says that the one with flowers and butterflies is too girly for Beniah though.)

Are we there yet?

For all of you avid blog readers, here is the latest and probably last preggo pic of yours truly. I'm currently in the last week and feeling it. I've had a pretty bad cold for the past week and a half and have been left with not much of a voice. Hopefully it is long gone before labor begins.
Jeff and I have "everything" ready to go and welcome our little Benny home. By everything, I mean all of the baby knowledge that we have been informed of, educated in, and/or stumbled upon in the past 9.5 months. We have our idea of how things are going to go but I'm sure that things are not going to go "as planned". But we are very excited and really looking forward to this new adventure. So, to all of you "seasoned" parents out there, be on alert, you may be phoned from time to time with what may seem like silly or outrageous questions. Just be patient and try to remember what it was like being the new parent on the block. We can't help ourselves. :-)

Spring!

In honor of the first day of Spring I thought it would be fun to eat some dirt! I had dinner with my friend Beth and her two sons on Friday night and I made dessert. The boys loved the worms 'crawling' through the dirt.

Prayer Request

If you are thinking about us, we would really appreciate your prayers this week. Jeff is leaving today for a missions trip to Philadelphia and will not return until next Saturday (21st). I still have 6 weeks to go, so all should be fine, just mainly my nerves need to be calmed. :-) If you could please pray for safety for the missions team and for the work that they are doing in the Philadelphia area. And for Beniah and me, that we stay healthy and well. Thank you!

If you would like to follow the team and their work this week you can go to their blog.
